One of Azerbaijan’s leading digital gaming and entertainment platforms set out to modernize its IT infrastructure in order to meet growing user demand and launch new online gaming services faster. In the existing environment, the company’s databases ran on on-premise servers, and with increasing user traffic, database management and scalability had become a significant challenge.
In this context, InspireIT supported the organization in building an enterprise-grade, scalable MySQL Enterprise Edition (MySQL Database Service – MDS) cluster on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The new cloud-based architecture gave the platform high availability and easier maintenance, along with the performance and scalability needed to handle growing user queries and heavy access traffic. This transformation enabled the organization to run large-scale online events requiring high user participation without disruption.
As part of the project, InspireIT also deployed the MySQL HeatWave in-memory analytics database service. This gave the organization the ability to run OLTP and OLAP workloads on the same MySQL infrastructure. With MySQL HeatWave, the execution time of complex queries dropped from minutes to milliseconds, delivering significant performance gains. It also removed the need for additional analytics database licenses, providing a cost advantage.
The migration project was completed in under a month, including training and testing. With the new infrastructure, the organization gained a powerful technology foundation that lets it deliver its services reliably on a high-performance, scalable and modern cloud platform.
