One of Turkey’s large-scale holding companies aimed to modernize its mission-critical Oracle database infrastructure by migrating from Microsoft Azure IaaS to fully managed Oracle Database services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The key objectives of this transformation were to improve database performance, simplify operational management, upgrade to a newer Oracle Database version, and enable faster provisioning of test and development environments.
As part of the project, the company’s Oracle database workloads were successfully migrated from Azure IaaS to PaaS-based Oracle Database services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. At the same time, the database environment was upgraded to a newer Oracle Database release. Using a structured migration and upgrade methodology implemented by InspireIT, the transition was completed with minimal downtime and the systems were seamlessly deployed on the new platform.
As a result of the transformation, database performance improved by up to three times, while enabling more effective utilization of advanced Oracle features. In addition, the time required to provision test and development environments was significantly reduced, increasing the agility of the IT teams.
By leveraging OCI managed database services, operational processes were also significantly simplified. Automated patching, integrated backup and recovery capabilities, and reduced administrative workload enabled more efficient database management.
With the new platform, the company achieved greater scalability, enhanced security capabilities, and increased operational resilience, establishing a modern and future-ready database environment aligned with its long-term digital transformation goals.
